There is a salt water treatment my ear, nose and throat doctor told me. I use it all the time as needed. Bring to boil one quart of water in saucepan and add one teaspoon of salt. Simmer for 12 minutes to sterilize water. After it cools to touch with finger, wash hands and pour some into palm and sniff into one nostril and then the other nostril. Do this a couple times or more and let drain from nose. It will clear nose and sinus passages and you'll be able to breath better. Good luck.

I play tennis 5.5-7 hrs a day and I have soft feet so when I sweat a lot my feet get wet and hot and I am also banging on my feet lots because of the intense tennis. So about 6 days ago, I started feeling like I was getting sick. It started out like a typical cold- stuffy nose, cough, and a sore throat. It was like this for a few days. Then 2 days ago, I got a mild case of the chills, and I felt very tired. I could still eat and feel fine, my throat would just still hurt and I would still be congested. Then yesterday morning, i woke up after sleeping on floor at my friends house with a stiff neck. My stomach is not abnormally large, and im pretty sure my spleen isnt swollen. Last night, i had enough energy to go to a concert that lasted from 8pm to 1am, so that surprised me, because im sure i wouldnt be able to have done that if I had mono, but I am not sure. So far i've been taking advil, motrin, and nyquil stuff to help with my symptoms, and i feel that its not doing much good. I was on depo-provera birth control for two years, I got off in 2007 I never had a regular period since then, I have had two DNC within a 1.5 years of each other, I had to have them because I was bleeding for months. My parents won't admit I'm crazy?

First off, I know enough about myself and mental illnesses to know that I have a tendency towards depression. Ever since I started puberty, there have been entire months where all I could do was fixate upon something self destructive: starving myself, killing myself, hurting myself. Sometimes, however, I feel downright homicidal, though lucky for everyone else, I don't act on this particular impulse. And no one has ever noticed. My parents are either just oblivious or are in denial about it. And now, as I'm being forced to sign the papers to go to a boarding school I never liked, they refuse to even discuss the possibility that I might have psychological issues. This is partly because of my mother's position as chief medical officer at a psychiatric institution and partly because of her recent diagnosis with severe adjustment disorder and her family history with mental illness. And though I have talked to my father about it, and he offered to take me to counseling, he never went through with it. I know that given enough stress, I sometimes have nervous breakdowns. What do I need to do to get some help?

I need closure over the loss of my dog?

It is natural to grieve when you lose a family memeber like a dog. They are a huge part of our lives. I unnderstand you feel upset beacuse you didn't get to say goodbye but i sure you would want her to have suffered more than she had to even for a short time. Just beacuse you didn't get to hug her goodbye doesn't mean she didn't know how much you loved her. She is at peace now. It can help to have a little ceremony like the family getting together in the garden and planting a plant like rose and say a few words. It has only be a few days so it will take time but i pronise that you will be able to rememeber the good times you had with her. As for your other dog it is natural she will miss her friend but just make sure she gets plenty of love and walks and she will get used to be without her. It maybe as a family you decide you would like another dog but don't rush that everyone needs to be ready as a new puppy or dog should always come into a happy home not a sad one. And i am sorry for your lose.

Pressure headache in temple and behind right eye all day?

I went to the clinic today and I have had such a bad headache behind my right eye and temples which sometimes also in my other eye but today its mostly in my right eye. When I had gone to the doctors my blood pressure was pretty elevated but the doctor sent me home with a diet plan for my bp. And that was all. I have beenalternating advil and tylenol all day? The head ache is more annoying than severe. Its more painful behind my right eye. I sleep for a few hours it goes away maybe 20 min and is back to ruin my life. i am a 26 yr old female... I may have an eating disorder?

I am 31 5ft1 I am 98 pounds. Recently going through a hard relationship. I feel so alone and hurt. I cry all day and not much od anything makes me happy. I am fixated on making things work with him but meanwhile I can't eat much. I try but I just can't I get sad when I think about food most times. I am not sure why but I get like a feeling of guilt. I hit my elbow really hard...should I be concerned?

So yesterday early evening I was taking down the big umbrellas on the veranda at work. They are really top heavy, so my usual method of folding them down is pulling the key out and ducking really fast to avoid being whacked in the face. In the midst of doing this, I rammed my elbow on the top side of a chair, right at that soft spot between the bones. I guess this is what they call your funny bone? It hurt SO much I got really dizzy and was laughing and crying at the same time. Afterwards, and since then, I have numbness in my forearm and hand when my arm was relaxed or extended, and when it is bent or I am pushing, pulling, or twisting something (like a mop or door knob), it hurts so much that my whole body trembles from trying to control and endure the pain. The elbow itself has a nice ugly blue and purple bruise where I initially hit it, and then right next to it is a bit puffy and tender, and sort of pinkish in color. I've been taking advil to sort of dull the pain, put ice on the spot to reduce swelling, rubbed icy-hot to relieve the internal pain...and it's not doing much. Sometimes, especially at work, when I have to carry something heavy or use my arm in a motion where I have to just bite my lip and endure the pain, afterwards I feel really tired and a little dizzy. Just typing this question has been a struggle. If it's nothing to be completely concerned about, or if there are better self-healing methods I can try, please let me know. I would rather NOT waste the 150$ to see a doctor for 15 minutes for him to tell me I'm fine.

That is usually what causes pain and soreness the next day. The tooth no longer has any nerve in it so that should not be hurting. I know that some people are easy to p*ss off and offend, even if you didn't mean too. Is it normal to be thrilled that a person is mad at you over something silly? Like you preferences or hairstyle? I have a friend who just found out that she offended her roommate because she said that she "likes to be lean and thin". I think it's silly that her roommate would be upset over this, but I think my friend should just ignore the anger. Instead, my friend is going out of her way to annoy her roommate even further. She is going to the gym everyday and dropping subtle hints she wants to lose more weight. Her roommate hates diets and societies obsession with clothing size, so my friend knows her behavior bothers her. I will admit that I some people are easy to p*ss off and offend, and I have taken advantage of this when I was in highschool, because it was funny to see someone so fixated on you over something silly. My friend does it chronically, if she finds out that someone is mad at her over something stupid, then she is thrilled. I just stay away from such people. They aren't really friends anyway or they would have enough compassion to leave the past in the past. If avoiding such people is not an option, the "look" of death and a quick exit works wonders on some folks However, there are some that just seem hell bent on re-living horrible experiences, so if that is the case, just make some comment to them that points out THEY are the ones that enjoy such conversations, but you can definitely live without ever mentioning it again.

two days ago i experienced that when i would put my head down i got a severe pressure rush to the front of my head, then yesterday anytime i turned my head i got a server placement of pressure. Last night i could barely sleep and i woke up this morning and everywhere on my head kills, and i feel like it's coming from inside my skull. My ears hurt on the inside when i turn my eyes it hutrs, my neck hurts. my jaw and front part of my neck seem to be numb. i fi take advil it slitghly decreases the pain but not w hole lot. and i can constantly feel the neartbeat in my skull

Does it bother you that all people who take narcotic pain meds seem to be vilified?

I use narcotic pain meds to treat the pain from herniated discs in my neck from an auto accident (not my fault) 5 yrs ago. I have numbness in my arm and have a horrible time sleeping unless I take a muscle relaxer, because of the extreme stiffness I get in the muscles between my shoulder blades. The stiffness causes horrible headaches that can be incapacitating. I don't like to take them and although prescribed more, only try to take them when I can't function with the level of pain anymore. The problem is that with the authorities jumping on the anti-pain med bandwagon, finding a "real" doctor who will prescribe them is very difficult. If a tylenol or advil helped I certainly wouldn't waste the money going to a doctor, or put myself through the pain of getting numbing injections directly into the back of my neck. I last went to a board certified anesthesiologist last year when I had medical coverage. I signed an agreement not to go and doctor shop for more pain meds, and I have followed this. People look at you and think you are a druggie if they find out you take narcotics. A lot of doctors won't prescribe at all due to liability. I personally think it is BS. My pain is real, but because of some bad apples, I have to jump through hoops to get the meds. Same thing with cold medicine from the pharmacist. I'm out of luck if I want to use bath salts in my bath water. There are those people out there that will find a negative use for just about anything out there. There was a professor who changed a reciprocating saw into a sex toy. Maybe now we need to ban those tools, or require ID's every time a carpenter needs to buy it. Maybe we should license it. An urn of ashes was stolen in a robbery because the idiots thought it was coke. Maybe cremation should be banned too. I think that pain is not understood by those that don't live with it every day. I think attention needs to be brought to this. People who require narcotics to feel normal because of a medical condition are being discriminated against. Sooner or later, no doctor will prescribe the meds. What do you think? Are you tired of the gov't pushing real doctors to not write the Rx's because of the local junkie?? There will always be an unscrupulous doctor out there that will write a script for 5000 pills a month. Go after those doctors and the pill mills. To me it is like the gov't not going after the doctor that commit Medicare fraud, but going after all doctors. I think that needs to stop.

you should visit your doctor. the blood is a sign of internal bleeding. about 4 months ago my dad broke his ribs and it just felt bruised and a little awkward trying to breathe. 3 days after he hurt his ribs he decided to go into the doctors. so yes they were broken and if yours are broken all they do is pain medication and wrap your ribs. if you have massive internal bleeding you will need more than that though. you should see a doctor though. and dont be too scared just be informed and see whats going on when you ask your doctor. and don't break up any more fights in the time being. hope you feel better and hope this helped.

20 month American Staffy....?

I own a 20month American staffy, Boy. He has a beautiful nature and is just a big softy really.!! Loves all people and gets on great with any dog. Whether you love your mom or not isn't the issue. The issue is the trauma, traumas that you experienced as a child. What would help you is a correct diagnosis from a psychiatrist who is the specialist and possibly medication or just a referral to therapy. Unfortunately nobody on here can give you a diagnosis, but this seems to be something that is disrupting your life. That is when it is time to get some help.

Agree with other folks who posted before me, especially Baa Baa about the gallbladder. Yep, it's pretty small, but it can cause huge pain in the areas she described. As for Advil, certain over-the-counter drugs can damage the liver if you take a lot of them, and advil is on that list. But from what I read, you basically have to abuse Advil to do any damage to your liver. Talk to your doc though - I'm definitely not an expert. 5 year old pees on himself on purpose and throws tantrums. I'm so frustrated?

My son is 5 years old. He has been potty trained for almost 2 years. About 3 months ago he wet the bed. I felt horrible for him, told him it would be okay, changed him and sent him back to bed. Well, he has wet the bed about 90% of the time since then but, only at bedtime. Plus he never wets the bed at the sitters, my brothers, his mothers... anywhere but at home. He goes to the restroom before bed. Most times he only urinates a tiny bit in his pants but, it's enough for him to tell me "daddy, I peed my pants". The first month or so I was very compassionate and understanding. The next month I didn't say a word to him when it happened, just changed him and sent him back to bed. Recently I have started making him stand in the corner for a few minutes and then change him. I make him help me clean the mess almost every time. I've tried positive reinforcement, encouragement, silence, punishment... everything I can think of but, he continues to wet the bed. Everything I'm reading online says that very rarely will a child wet himself on purpose but, I'm 99% confident that this is the case. I don't know if he's trying to get attention, if he's trying to test me, if he sees it as an excuse to not go to sleep... I just don't know. Most times it seems like a game to him... he'll have a smile on his face when he tells me he wet himself. I've even went to the extent of threatening to put him back in a diaper at bedtime. He laughs at me Usually, when I threaten something I intend on backing it up but, I just couldn't bring myself to put him back in a diaper. I would say finish college only because it will help to make a living. The world revolves around money. And we're not really supposed to live with the same technology for the rest of our existence because we have the brain power to make and use tools. I definitely agree that it makes some of our biological functions obsolete, though. As for living away from the social norm, discovering the deeper meanings of life, I'm with you there. The world is too precise and too planned out for anything interesting to happen on a daily basis.

I guess it depends on you. You should speak this out to a parent a best friend or some one you trust. If someone is troubling you you should go and tell it to your parent or some one you feel comfortable with. It could be a bit serious if someone has tried with you anything, I guess after your sisters boyfriends issue you should have told your parents about it or your sister. Things to help relieve a headache/migraine?

I have had one continuous headache/migraine for the past 5 months from a severe concussion i got. I cant remember what it feels like not to have a headache.I have tried many migraine meds such as maxalt, ive tried diamox to relieve the pressure in my head, and other meds... None worked:/ the diamox helped a little but i still had the headache and i couldnt get any sleep so i had to discontinue it. All this pain i go through everyday has caused depression for me and im tired of the s.H. !. T i get everyday from people who dont know what i go through. Everyday im so dizzy and light headed i feel like im gonna pass out, or throw up. I have thrown up a couple of times from being so dizzy and having such a bad migraine. Ive also tried tylenol, motrin, advil, ibeprofen, dosent help at all. I dont see any doctors for a while. Are there any other things to help relieve a headache/migriane?

Blisters after cutting grass?

Every time I cut a lot of grass, maybe when the grass has gotten taller than I would normally let it, I break out in blisters wherever the grass "splatter" has contacted my skin. But not immediately, it always takes about 2 days for them to form, they start off as just red marks, not raised or itchy or painful, just red marks, then they turn to blisters. Not huge blisters, but blisters none the less. They are filled with a clear liquid and are very easy to burst, they're not painful or particularly itchy and they go away after a few days. This definitely has something to do with the wet grass that splatters onto my skin from the strimmer as this is the only time this happens. If I burst one of these blisters, I can almost watch it refill! Takes maybe less than an hour to reform and be just how it was before I burst it! Bursting them does not appear to cause them to spread. Anyone else experience anything similar? Any ideas what it is?

How to deal with sorness?

I have been working out alot lately(Weights and Cardiovascular) and I am always sore. Especially in the morning I am in so much pain. I have been popping Advil like candy and soaking in warm epsom salt baths. This helps a little, but I am still soooo sore. I thought It was one of those things that would go away after your body gets used to you working out but I have been hitting the gym hard since January and I am still just as sore if not more. One thing I do is exercise 7 days a week. I never take a off day. I tried missing a day or two but I would really catch myself missing the gym and eating junk food and feeling so bad. Is the lack of off days leading to the extra sorness? What can I do to stop it?

I use to get them a lot usually in groups very painful due to vitamin deficiency.That might not be why you have one but I would try a multivitamin if your not already taking one some thing high with vitamin B12, foliate (folic acid), and iron, it cant hurt. I've tried a few things but these brought the most relieve for me: changing toothpaste,over the counter mouth rinses made for mouth sores which helped me for usually a few hours might be easier since its in a tough spot. Also raw honey helped numb them some. when they got real bad i used a mouth pain relieving liquid with benzociane( to numb it) in it that was good because it creates a seal and blocks out food and particles to help it heal but stings like a sob, and then at night rinse with warm salt water. Hope that helps and you feel some relieve soon. From a person who has had a couple for weeks on end i know they suck big time.good luck

Why do I have issues?

I think your thinking is like most girl's and I am a woman, I should know. I did marry a very good looking man who was a rat! It took a long time to find out what was under the surface. All that shines is not gold. I eventually divorced him. Throughout the years, I have found that sometimes you meet a person that is not so great looking but that, once you get to know them, they really become more and more beautiful because their ''soul'' or whatever you want to call the personality, shines through and you cannot help yourself but be attracted. So I'm Having Hair Issues... Please help! What should I do?

I straighten my hair all the time which is why it is damaged. Now, I want to stop straightening it but it gets really frizzy when it dries after washing. What should I do. Liquid from ear HELP what should I do?

I have a little painful stop inside my ear but it is leaking, I mean to the point where it visabley (sp) wets things. I keep getting lumps on my vagina?

The last few months I been keep getting red lumps on my vagina lips and they hurts. They like come and go. What would kill our chickens?

We have found 3 dead chickens this morning. All in front of the door when we opened up the chicken house all with wet necks. Fourth one in 3 weeks. These are older chickens but they are still not full grown. Only a couple months old. We have some younger. But we just got all new chickens because over the Christmas holidays we lost all of ours to a bobcat. So now all the holes and crevices have been sealed because of snakes. Why do cramps hurt soooo bad sometimes?

Hey I have had my period about 4 years and sometimes I get cramps so bad that it hurts to walk my back and thighs hurt and I throw up and get sick to my stomach. When my cramps get this bad Pamprin Midol Advil any pain killers don't really work to get rid of the pain. And other times during my period my cramps are very minimal to non. But that doesn't happen often. So why do cramps hurt so f ing bad sometimes?

If you have the flu, then none of them will help. The flu is a viral infection and it can last days. Advil might make you feel better for while but if you are sick then you are sick. If you have a true temperature over 101, then going to the beach might not be your best choice. You can get very dehydrated very fast in the sun. It would be a good idea to talk to your parents if you are not feeling well.

How To Clean Cloudy Fish Tank?

i have a 10 gallon fish tank that is not in use yet. its 1 foot tall and about 4 inches down from the top its all foggy and cloudy. its only like this when its dry but when i wet it, it becomes clear but then dries up quickly and becomes cloudy again. ive put water in it 4 times and let it sit there for a while but is still cloudy. what can i do to stop the cloudiness?

Hypocondriac problems. Help?

I am a terrible hypochondriac, and every now and then i fixate on some illness and stress to myself that I have it. Even though I know beyond logical doubt that not only do I not have it, the chances of getting it are insanely miniscule. Today I'm haunted by the human form of mad cow disease. No matter how I convince myself there's no way I have it, my mind just keeps thinking I have it and it terrifies me. I constantly smoke pot, but I don't know if this is causing my fear or not. Here's another thing, I've been doing things weirdly in the past few days. Like- I say gramatically incorrect phrases (which isn't typical because I typically come of as rather smart and make good grades) I've been doing weird things - for example- I put a paper towel roll in the fridge, or I leave faucets on, and seem to just feel different lately. Any suggestions?

What can I do to relieve pain in fingers,and hand?

I have been doing alot of yard work digging,raking, lifting and spreading river rock. Now my hands and fingers are killing me! It feels like they are "asleep". They are tingling and burning and nothing helps with the pain. I have been taking Advil and it helps a little but I am still in alot of pain. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Unusual bleeding while/after being fingered?

My boyfriend has fingered me a handful of times before, but when he did it the other night, I felt in quite a bit more pain than usual at times and I noticed that I was a lot more wet than usual. I had just ended my period, and I didn't realize until later that night that I had been bleeding since he fingered me, and probably while he was fingering me. my husband drinks on average 1-2 beers a day. Sometimes he will go a few days without drinking at all, some weekends he will drink several. HE NEVER HAS A HANGOVER. We started talking on facebook once the semester finished (we're both in college), and now it's summer. How do I know what my dog's intentions are with my new kitten?

I just got a female kitten and we keep them separated. He's a terrier dog, so he has a prey drive, but he's acting calm around her, when we bring them close he sniffs her and lick her. However I don't like them getting too close because I'm afraid he's gonna bite her and try to eat her. I heard a little rumor that Benzema will be signing with Juventus next season, though Real Madrid does not want to get rid of him for the price they offered, I believe a twist on the arm will do it, because Benz said he is not happy with Real Madrid because he never plays. This hurts! Is it normal?

Hi, so I slipped on a wet floor and was told I sprained my PCL at the ER. This was 4 days ago. I've been following the regimen of keeping it wrapped and using crutches to take some strain off it as well as taking ibuprofen as well as another prescription pain med. I've noticed my knee seems to be popping at times and when not wrapped for a few hours (at night) it feels heavy if I go to stand up to go to the restroom. There are also random muscle twitches associated with it. Anyone else experienced these symptoms with a knee sprain?
